Sue Barker is joined by Michael Johnson, Colin Jackson and Jonathan Edwards to introduce live coverage of the opening morning of the championships at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden, which will play host to over 1,400 competitors over the next seven days. As is tradition with major athletics meetings, the opening round of the men's 100m will be the main focus of attention on day one at 9.35, with British hopefuls Tyrone Edgar and Mark Lewis-Francis among those eager to reach round two. Plus, the heptathlon 100m hurdles at 9.10 and high jump at 10.05, and the opening rounds of the men's 400m at 11.15 and women's 400m hurdles at 10.40.
