Exploring the diverse environments of the continent and examining the history which shaped it. The journey begins on the coast of Norway, home to the oldest rocks in Europe which reveal some surprising facts about the evolution of the landscape billions of years ago. Plus, how the Mediterranean sea came into being. Computer re-creations are used to bring the prehistory of the countries to life, featuring St Petersburg buried in desert and France submerged in tropical seas. Narrated by Sean Pertwee
