Tom Conti returns for a new series of the crime drama, which follows the forensic specialist whose intriguing work is matched by an eventful private life. When a debt collector is accused of killing a client, Donovan is called as an expert witness, but his inconclusive testimony means the man walks free, leaving the scientist facing a host of angry people - not least his wife Kate, who is frustrated by his long working hours.
