The concluding part of the Dickens adaptation sees David getting engaged to the beautiful but shallow Dora Spenlow. Things are looking up for the frustrated writer as his stories and columns are at last printed in the newspapers : only for tragedy to strike when his beloved wife becomes seriously ill following a miscarriage. Elsewhere, Micawber threatens to expose Uriah Heep for the devious character he is. Ciaran McMenamin and Joanna Page star
