On December 21 1988, a bomb detonated in the forward hold of Pan Am Flight 103, killing all 259 people on board. The remains of the aircraft crash-landed in the Scottish town of Lockerbie, resulting in a further 11 deaths. After a protracted investigation, a Libyan intelligence officer was found guilty of mass murder - but is due a second appeal against the conviction. This programme follows a trail of evidence from the Middle East to North America, investigating a complex series of claims and counter-claims to uncover the truth about the tragic event
