Five men set off on a shopping trip to a French hypermarket, determined to stock up on cheap champagne for a wedding : but a succession of disasters turns the journey into a nightmare. To make matters worse, cantankerous fellow traveller Maurice drives the Channel-hopping adventurers up the wall with his constant moaning, and the wives back home take full advantage of their husbands' absence.
