  A fraternity brother at Middlesex University is found brutally murdered in a rival school's mascot uniform. The detectives search for a motive for the killing when they learn the victim was running a fruitful money-making scheme. Meanwhile, Booth's brother is discharged from the Navy

• Season 4 Episode 23: The Girl in the Mask

  Booth receives a call from his old friend Detective Ken Nakamura in Tokyo, who is distraught because his sister has disappeared in Washington. When the woman's severed head is discovered in a canal, her brother flies in to assist Booth and Brennan in investigating her murder, and the case becomes a race against time when the the victim's roommate is also found to be missing

• Season 4 Episode 22: The Double Death of the Dearly Departed

  A Jeffersonian employee from the Egyptology department dies of heart failure, and the whole team attends the funeral as a sign of respect. Brennan is adamant the death was not an accident after viewing the corpse and enlists Booth's help to snatch the body so she can take a closer look. Meanwhile, Cam tries to put an end to her newly adopted daughter's smoking habit

• Season 4 Episode 21: Mayhem on the Cross

  Booth and Brennan are called to investigate when a real human skeleton is used as a stage prop for a band in Norway, and the remains are soon identified as those of Mayhem, the bassist of death metal-group Spew. • Season 4 Episode 20: The Cinderella in the Cardboard

  Booth and Brennan are called to a recycling plant when the image of the Virgin Mary outlined in dried human blood is spotted on a bale of compressed cardboard with a completely flattened body inside. The duo discover the victim was engaged and had been planning her wedding for years, but had a trail of men from a dating service in tow and may have been murdered by a suitor

  Brennan and Booth face a particularly perplexing case when they are called in to investigate after the pulverised remains of a gifted scientist are discovered. Crime drama, starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz

• Season 4 Episode 18: The Doctor in the Den

  Brennan and Booth are called to investigate when a half-eaten body is discovered in a tiger cage at the zoo. They identify the victim as Cam's former fiance and while piecing together his final evening, the Jeffersonian team is led to Brandon Casey, whose refusal to confess to the crime causes Sweets and Angela to resort to unusual interrogation methods

  A corpse is found buried under a mound of salt in a city de-icing truck. After carrying out the requisite forensic tests, Brennan and Booth identify the victim as a 16-year-old high-school volleyball player who was pregnant. The detectives venture to the girl's school and discover all her team-mates either have babies or are expecting

• Season 4 Episode 16: The Bones That Foam

  A newlywed couple decide to mark their wedding day with a bungee jump, and end up face to face with a corpse at the bottom of the gorge. Brennan and Booth identify the victim as a car salesman who got on the wrong side of a customer, but an unknown substance starts to ooze from the body, leaving the Jeffersonian team with only 24 hours to determine the cause of death before the bones disintegrate

• Season 4 Episode 15: The Princess and the Pear

  Booth is out of action due to a back injury, leaving Brennan to be joined by Agent Payton Perotta. The pair identify a decomposed body as a promotions model from ImagiCon, a convention catering to diehard fans of comic books and video games, and discover the victim may have possessed an invaluable piece of memorabilia

• Season 4 Episode 14: The Hero in the Hold

  Evidence goes missing in the ongoing Grave Digger investigation and Brennan, Hodgins and crime author Thomas Vega are called before a federal judge, where they all proclaim their innocence. The protestations are interrupted by a phone call revealing that Booth has been buried alive with only 24 hours' worth of oxygen and must be saved before it is too late

• Season 4 Episode 13: Fire in the Ice

  Booth becomes a suspect in a murder investigation when a rival ice-hockey player with whom he had a history of fighting is found dead. Brennan is assigned to work with a new FBI agent and sets out to prove that her partner is not responsible for the crime. Guest starring former NHL player Luc Robitaille as himself

• Season 4 Episode 12: Double Trouble in the Panhandle

  Brennan and Booth go undercover at a travelling circus as a knives-of-death act to investigate the murder of conjoined twins who worked as jugglers.   When the decaying body of an aspiring singer is found, Brennan and Booth's investigations lead them to a restaurant, where an open mic contest reveals several suspects.   The death of a 10-year-old girl puzzles the team when a facial reconstruction reveals the head of an elderly woman. Brennan worries when her father makes an unwelcome appearance who brings revelations about her past, while Angela and Hodgins prepare to get married.   When the decomposed body of a teenage boy is found in an alleyway, Booth calls for Brennan's help to diagnose a cause of death, but she cannot find anything conclusive. It appears the victim was a great fan of comic books when he was alive, and didn't have many friends - stirring the pathologist's sympathies as she attempts to find out how he met his end.   The team tries to identify the charred body of a woman found in a burned-out car. A child's trainer is found near the scene of the crime, and a human ear has been placed in the victim's mouth.
