The Sun Hill quiz team win a weekend break at a country hotel thanks to the intervention of DC Spears, who reluctantly tags along with them after being refused permission to join Liz Rawton's's's hunt for a serial rapist preying on prostitutes. When the group arrive at their destination, Spears is taken aback to find a local police officer harbours romantic feelings for her, a situation that threatens to turn the holiday into a nightmare.
