The arrival of two former colleagues from Manchester antagonises Gene, who refuses to believe their claim they have pursued a retired stand-up comedian to London because he stole from the Police Widows' Fund. As the hunt grows competitive, it becomes clear that the suspect is terrified - and when gun shots ring out, the team realises he is right to be so. However, further complications arise after the visitors make it clear to Alex they have information about Sam Tyler's death.
