Synopsis:
Diarmuid Gavin visits Surrey to reveal how Gertrude Jekyll became an unlikely gardening hero in the 1890s when she turned away from the Arts and Crafts movement, owing to failing eyesight, and created a design described as 'impressionism in flowers and plants'. Together with architect Edwin Lutyens, they became the toast of fashionable society. Featuring a dramatic reconstruction with Miriam Margolyes and Jean Marsh.
