Absolutely Fabulous: Season 5 (2003)

  • Season 5 Episode 8: Cold Turkey

    Patsy can't wait for Christmas to arrive - not because she likes the season, but because she and Eddie have always gone away somewhere exotic and drunk themselves into a stupor. But this year Eddie has decided to stay at home and play happy families with daughter Saffy and granddaughter Jane, which proves too much for her best friend. Matters come to a head when client Emma Bunton arrives for a meeting, and is horrified at the state of the house, but luckily Saffy turns up and lets slip a big secret that might just render her mother speechless.   • Season 4 Episode 6: Menopause

    As Edina's PR company collapses round her ears thanks to Bubble, Saffy forces her to attend a Menopause Anonymous meeting, where she can share the experiences of other women and learn to love her hormone patches. The 'change' appears to be having an alarming effect on Patsy, however, who is turning into something of a domestic goddess. With guest stars Twiggy, Ruby Wax and Dale Winton

  • Season 4 Episode 5: Small Opening

    Saffy's autobiographical play is about to open at a fringe theatre and her father Justin arrives to provide moral support while Eddie, fearing public humiliation, lurks in the wings scheming with Bubble to ruin the show.   • Season 4 Episode 4: Donkey

    Edina goes on a detox diet in another desperate attempt to get thin, but since this means cutting out the beloved Bolly it's likely to be just as tough on everyone else. Meanwhile, Saffy bumps into an old school friend with thespian pretensions and Patsy hits on the hare-brained notion of trying life without her famous fringe. Featuring Marianne Faithfull as God

    Patsy jumps at the opportunity to relive the modelling days of her distant past when she joins a fashion shoot in Paris : but soon tires of the fresh-faced mannequins who haunt her at every turn. Meanwhile, Edina hopes the French capital is just the place for a bonding session with Saffy : if only she can get her to change her frumpy blouse. Sacha Distel guest stars

  • Season 4 Episode 2: Fish Farm

    Saffy's choice of landscape gardener gives Eddie something to gawp at, and she vows to get her claws into the hunk. However, Patsy soon turns up with a shock revelation - it seems the green-fingered guru is actually a card-carrying member of the aristocracy, sending Eddy's imagination into overdrive

  • Season 3 Episode 8: The Last Shout : Part Two

    Eddie returns to complete chaos. Saffy is making preparations for marriage, Mack and Millie have parked their caravans on the front lawn, Patsy appears to have moved in permanently and there seems to be a mysterious Bedouin woman hiding under the kitchen table. Concluding part of the comedy special, with guest stars Bruce Oldfield, Marcella Detroit, Christian Lacroix and Christopher Biggins

  • Season 3 Episode 7: The Last Shout : Part One

    Part one of two. Edina has a cliff-hanging encounter with the Almighty during a near-death experience on the slopes of trendy ski resort Val d'Isere. Meanwhile, Saffy's love life finally gets off the ground and Mother finds her hands full with a pair of hedonistic pensioners hell-bent on blowing their kids' inheritance.     Special one-off edition, which sees Edina plan a trip to New York in a bid to find long-lost son Serge, accompanied as ever by sozzled companion Patsy, who is hoping to take New York Fashion Week by storm as part of her new job in haute couture. Meanwhile, Saffy seeks inspiration for her writing by crawling inside a cupboard, and Bo and Marshall : Serge's dad : organise their own Christian TV show. Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, Jane Horrocks and June Whitfield star, with guest appearances by Whoopi Goldberg, Debbie Harry and Graham Norton

  • Christmas Special

    Edina makes a big effort to celebrate Christmas, but the festivities are cut short when Patsy collapses and ends up in the hospital.

    Another festive outing for the oldest swingers in town as Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley return as boozy best friends Patsy and Edina. Edina decides her kitchen needs redecorating, which for anyone else with her money would be a simple case of choosing new cupboards and a colour scheme and letting the workmen get on with it. Not so Edina, who ends up needing regressional therapy. Meanwhile, Mother and Saffy try to cope with bringing up the baby amid all the chaos and Bubble gets ideas above her station. Julia Sawalha, June Whitfield and Jane Horrocks co-star, with appearances by Miranda Richardson, Patrick Barlow and Laurie Metcalf
