Zulu

Michael Caine stars in his first major film role, as an upper-class soldier who attempts with his fellow officers to rally their meagre squad of 100 men against the marauding might of a 4,000-strong force of Zulu warriors. Based on the true story of a confrontation which took place in 1879, the drama also stars Stanley Baker, Jack Hawkins, Ulla Jacobsson and Nigel Green, with narration by Richard Burton. Directed and co-written by Cy Endfield, who also contributed to the film's prequel Zulu Dawn, which was released 15 years later
