Acclaimed Japanese director Takeshi Kitano takes the helm and also stars in this magnificent thriller, boasting cartoonish violence, graceful choreography and a strong moral theme. He plays the eponymous hero - a blind samurai with a talent for massage - who arrives in a village and becomes embroiled in a war between two clans, aiding those oppressed individuals who hunger for revenge. Michiyo Ookusu and Tadanobu Asano co-star. In Japanese with English subtitles
