World War Two drama recounting the tale of a traumatised American soldier assigned to help protect two Navajo Indian code-carriers during the invasion of Saipan, who must overcome the ghosts of the past to prove his courage. Director John Woo keeps the bombs, bullets and explosions coming thick and fast in this gritty snapshot of life on the front line.
