Movie (1971)
Gene Wilder stars as the eccentric confectionery king who takes a group of lucky youngsters and their guardians on a tour of his amazing empire. Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay for this highly imaginative and colourful musical adventure adapted from his own classic children's story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which has a definite dark side lurking just below the ostensibly sunny surface. With Jack Albertson, Peter Ostrum and Roy Kinnear, plus music and lyrics by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse.
