Movie (1988)
Frantically funny, ground-breaking mixture of live action and animation, set in a 1940s Hollywood where cartoon characters are real. Bob Hoskins stars as a seedy private eye who reluctantly sets out to prove the innocence of a cartoon rabbit accused of murder. Plot takes second place to the Oscar-winning special effects and crazy gags as classic characters including Mickey Mouse, Dumbo, Bugs Bunny and Droopy make cameo appearances to help or hinder Hoskins in his search for the bad guy - a quest leading to the discovery of a sinister plot. Co-starring Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Cassidy and Stubby Kaye, with voices supplied by Mel Blanc, Kathleen Turner and Charles Fleischer
