What the Deaf Man Heard
Movie (1997)
A boy pretends to be deaf and mute after turning up alone in a small Georgia town in 1940 after his mother's strange disappearance en route. Two employees at the bus depot give him shelter, and over the years he makes a new life for himself doing odd jobs round the town. In the meantime, the residents mistakenly believe their secrets are safe with him, while he becomes aware of everyone's desires and misdemeanours.
