Synopsis:

Kevin Costner stars in an overblown action fantasy set in a drowned world of the future. He plays a mutant mariner who agrees to help a woman and child search for a mythical haven of dry land - but in the process has to fend off a bunch of villainous nicotine addicts led by the wonderfully sneering Dennis Hopper. Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tina Majorino and Rick Aviles lend able support in a film that doesn't quite deserve it's disastrous reputation, but is nevertheless let down by a weak plot
