Wealthy but shy Catherine Sloper thinks she's found the man of her dreams in the handsome Morris Townsend. However, her father doesn't approve, thinking the young man is only after her money - and threatens to disinherit her if she goes through with the marriage. Period drama based on Henry James's classic novel, bolstered by wonderful performances by the fine cast, including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Albert Finney, Ben Chaplin and Maggie Smith
