An elderly woman grieving for her dead sister adopts a hermit-like existence, moving into a tiny cabin in the mountains. Two local boys become concerned about her isolation, but when a mysterious stranger begins paying her regular visits, they attempt to discover his identity - and instead learn the old woman has secrets she's been concealing all her life.
