Biopic of Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata. In the early 1900s, peasant farmer Zapata is outraged by the corrupt president's disinterest in his people's suffering, and fights to have him overthrown in favour of an exiled reformer - but the new president proves little better. Starring Marlon Brando, Joseph Wiseman and an Oscar-winning Anthony Quinn. Directed by Elia Kazan from a screenplay by John Steinbeck
