Synopsis:
Uninspired adaptation of DH Lawrence's novella about a clergyman's daughter who returns to her rural home after attending school in a nearby town, only to become smitten with a travelling fortune teller. However, her yearning is frowned upon by her strict family, forcing her to turn to underhand methods - with tragic consequences.
