Intense, ground-breaking thriller, with Dirk Bogarde playing a secretly gay barrister who risks his reputation, marriage and career to hunt down blackmailers preying on homosexual men. Bogarde's bold decision to play this role shocked many fans, and while some elements of this movie are very dated, it marked a major shift in social attitudes.
