Movie (2000)
A penniless prince invites Louis XIV to three days of festivities in Chantilly, in the hope that he can impress the monarch enough to earn a commission as a general. Honourable servant Vatel is placed in charge of the event, but finds himself drawn to the King's newest mistress Anne de Montausier, forming a relationship that threatens to destroy everything. Period drama, starring Gérard Depardieu and Uma Thurman.
