Movie (1997)
A man determined to restore a sense of civic pride to the youth of his home town decides to set up a boxing club, hoping the challenge of attaining peak physical fitness will set them on the path to self-esteem and happiness. Powerful and effective drama from Shane Meadows, which will have viewers running the gamut of emotions. Bob Hoskins is superb in the lead, giving a subtle performance that's a joy to watch, while Bruce Jones, Danny Nussbaum, Justin Brady and James Hooton offer support. The excellent soundtrack is the perfect complement to the action. Part of the Summer of British Film season
