A man determined to restore a sense of civic pride to the youth of his home town decides to set up a boxing club, hoping the challenge of attaining peak physical fitness will set them on the path to self-esteem and happiness. Powerful and effective drama from Shane Meadows, which will have viewers running the gamut of emotions. Bob Hoskins is superb in the lead, giving a subtle performance that's a joy to watch, while Bruce Jones, Danny Nussbaum, Justin Brady and James Hooton offer support.
