Movie (1935)
Hindsight makes this documentary, made by notorious director Leni Riefenstahl, a fascinating example of the power of propaganda, and it's really mind-boggling to think that neither time, nor knowledge of the horror to come, have lessened the impact. As a rallying cry for the Nazi cause, it utilises footage of stirring events including the Nuremberg rallies and many of Hitler's public appearances, and is considered by many students of film and history to be the greatest propaganda piece of all time, due to its still persuasive message and heroic depiction of Hitler - though the director herself denied she was allied to the Nazi party
