An elderly widow in 1940s Houston longs to pay a final visit to her childhood home before she dies. However, her plan is hindered by her concerned son and daughter-in-law, who refuse to either accompany her or let her travel alone, forcing her to make ever more desperate attempts to escape the suburbs and embark on her nostalgic journey.
