The world's tallest building goes up in flames during its opening celebrations, leaving architect Paul Newman and fire chief Steve McQueen battling against the odds to save the lives of party-goers trapped on the 135th floor. Star-studded drama, outdoing similar Seventies disaster movies such as The Poseidon Adventure with spectacular special effects and daring rescue attempts - which ensured it picked up an impressive eight Oscar nominations in 1975, although it ended up only scooping three. Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Fred Astaire, Richard Chamberlain, Susan Blakely, Robert Vaughn and OJ Simpson are among the cast making this epic shine
