Billy Connolly stars as a professor who stumbles across a portal for time travel while leading an archaeological dig in the Dordogne valley. When he mysteriously goes missing, his son and the other students attempt to rescue him. However, they find themselves transported to 14th-century France and land in the middle of a feudal war - leaving them struggling to evade the battling forces and make it back to their own time before tragedy strikes.
