Hugely enjoyable, ground-breaking drama from British director Mike Figgis, using a split-screen technique to tell four tales simultaneously. The rock 'n' roll lifestyle of Hollywood provides the backdrop as characters play out everyday relationship traumas - and expose the consequences for all concerned. Salma Hayek, Saffron Burrows, Holly Hunter and Kyle MacLachlan head a star-studded cast, who were given an outline of events planned for the film, but improvised the dialogue and action themselves
