The Time Machine

Movie (2002)

A 19th-century scientist resolves to prove time travel is possible. However, when his fiancee is killed, he embarks on an elaborate mission to change history. However, his experiment proves unsuccessful and ultimately propels him into a terrifying future. Sci-fi adventure, based on the classic HG Wells novel, and directed by the author's great-grandson. Guy Pearce tries his best in the lead role, but singer Samantha Mumba struggles in her feature-film debut and the film lacks the intelligence of both the book and the previous 1960 adaptation.
