Movie (1959)
A lonely 12-year-old sees a Polish sailor murder his unfaithful girlfriend, and takes the gun he used as evidence of his crime. However, when her police inspector father refuses to believe her story, she decides to help the killer make his escape. Unusual suspense drama with a distinct air of melancholy, starring a remarkably self-assured Hayley Mills in her film debut, alongside her father John Mills, Horst Buchholz, Yvonne Mitchell and Megs Jenkins. Directed by J Lee Thompson of The Guns of Navarone fame
