Documentary examining the workings of the Motion Picture Association of America, the organisation responsible for determining film certificates in the US. With most cinemas unwilling to show movies unapproved by the MPAA, film-makers are frequently forced to censor their movies to ensure they get released. Director Kirby Dick attempts to find out who makes these judgements and challenges both the priorities of the organisation in terms of what they deem unacceptable and the motives behind their decisions
