Movie (1954)
Musical following the fortunes of the vaudevillian Donahue family. Ethel Merman and Dan Dailey play the showbiz parents, whose children seem to be drifting away from the family tradition - one of their sons choosing the priesthood over the stage while another is distracted by his infatuation with chorus singer Marilyn Monroe. The sketchy plot is an excuse to string a selection of Irving Berlin's hits together, but the musical numbers are all suitably impressive. Donald O'Connor and Johnnie Ray also star
