Two ex-petty crooks struggle to make ends meet in the aftermath of the American Civil War, so decide to join the Texas Rangers, figuring it'll be a good way to gain inside information for their robberies. Their new life as Rangers causes them to have a change of heart and they decide to go straight for real - but the courage of their convictions is tested when they are asked to bring down a former partner in crime who has become a notorious outlaw.
