Movie (2000)
Biopic of the country singer, charting his childhood as the son of an overbearing air force officer, his early brush with fame in the Chad Mitchell Trio and his rise to success as a solo artist, despite a string of personal traumas - before his ill-fated flight over Monterey Bay. This sub-standard and superficial offering does treat viewers to a little humour - thanks to some ill-judged lip-synching. Chad Lowe takes the lead, with Kristin Davis, Gerald McRaney and Brian Markinson
