David Lean's gorgeous, lavish romantic drama, based on Arthur Laurents' play The Time of the Cuckoo, starring Katharine Hepburn as an American spinster who falls madly in love with a married man while on holiday in Venice. The scenery and cast are equally beautiful, and the well-observed script complements proceedings, making this a really enchanting treat. Rossano Brazzi, Isa Miranda and Darren McGavin co-star
