Synopsis:

A World War Two veteran has trouble communicating with his parents, and soon finds himself dragged into the marital difficulties that plagued his childhood. For the first time, he is able to look at his parents through adult eyes, and realises he is helpless to stop the deterioration of their marriage. Sensitive drama, with powerful performances from Martin Sheen, Jack Albertson and Patricia Neal. Adapted by Frank D Gilroy from his own Pulitzer Prize-winning play
