Movie (1965)
Powerful epic drama from acclaimed Indian director Ritwik Ghatak, following the lives of Bengali refugees who lost their homes during the partition of India. Idealistic Ishwar is determined to make a living to support his sister and an orphan they have taken in, so accepts a job at a foundry. However, the other residents of his shanty town condemn him for selling out, and the conformist society he finds himself in radically changes his behaviour.
