An escaped Nazi war criminal living in a small American town is hunted by a federal agent, jeopardising his plans to marry an unsuspecting local woman. Impressive drama, directed by and starring Orson Welles, with Loretta Young, Edward G Robinson, Richard Long and Philip Merivale. Welles himself denounced this film as his worst, but over the years it has become regarded as a fine thriller
