River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Wil Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell all give admirably mature performances as 12-year-old best friends who embark on a life-changing trip into the isolation of the Oregon wilderness to find a missing teenager's body, little realising the trials and triumphs that await them. Rob Reiner's blockbusting Fifties-set coming-of-age drama based on The Body, a short story by Stephen King, is bittersweet entertainment, and well worth watching for some heart-rending and humorous moments. Kiefer Sutherland, Casey Siemaszko, Richard Dreyfuss, Greg Riley and Bradley Gregg co-star
