Chilling sci-fi thriller set in the overpopulated New York of 2022, starring Charlton Heston as a cop who links a murder with the mysterious synthetic food fed to the populace. Director Richard Fleischer seems to lose his way in the middle, but it's worth staying tuned for the shocking conclusion. The strong support cast includes Edward G Robinson, Leigh Taylor-Young and Chuck Connors
