Rich, neurotic Leona Stevenson lies bedridden at home and is trying to phone her husband. But the lines are crossed, and she accidentally overhears a call in which two men are planning a murder. She frantically tries to raise the alarm, and when at last she manages to convince the telephone company of her story, she comes to realise with increasing horror who their intended victim is. Thriller, starring Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster alongside Ann Richards and Wendell Corey
