Synopsis:
A young man from a violent neighbourhood ends up in jail on a drugs charge following the shooting of a local dealer. Behind bars, he encounters two rival gangs both trying to recruit him, but also develops a remarkable gift for poetry through a writing class. On his release, he returns to his old stomping ground, and tries to use his way with words to uncover injustice and crime in his run-down ghetto home.
