The Sixth Sense

A child psychologist, disheartened after the suicide of a former patient, takes on the case of a terrified boy haunted by ghostly apparitions. Director M Night Shyamalan's Oscar-nominated supernatural chiller stars Bruce Willis as the psychologist and features an impressive debut from Haley Joel Osment, who also received a nod from the Academy - as did Toni Collette, who stars as the youngster's worried mother. Shyamalan's penchant for unexpected twists has been criticised in recent years, but the uninitiated will be genuinely astounded by the outcome here. With Olivia Williams and Donnie Wahlberg
