Sinners

Concluding part of the drama set in the 1960s, starring Anne Marie Duff as a young, unmarried Irish woman whose family commit her to a church-run institution to escape the social shame of her pregnancy. Once removed from the accusatory glare of her local community, she is abandoned to lead an austere life alongside other stigmatised women, all of whom are forced to work under the authoritarian Sister Bernadette : until friendship offers her a glimmer of hope and the strength to fight back.
