Sin City

A collection of stories are woven together in this stylish crime thriller which is shot in black and white with intermittent bursts of colour. Bruce Willis stars as a disgraced former cop determined to do whatever it takes to save a beautiful stripper from a hideously deformed psychopath, while a soft-hearted thug (an almost unrecognisable Mickey Rourke) embarks on a mission to avenge the murder of a prostitute. Elsewhere in the corrupt city, tough private eye Clive Owen's clash with corrupt undercover cop Benicio Del Toro leads to him fighting to defend the city's red light district against gangsters. Jessica Alba, Elijah Wood, Rosario Dawson and Rutger Hauer are among the big-name cast of this visual feast based on the comic book of Frank Miller, who co-directs alongside Robert Rodriguez, while Quentin Tarantino helmed one scene as a favour to Rodriguez.
