A girl requests help from an incompetent fairy to win a dream Broadway role for her struggling actor father. Unfortunately a broken magic wand interferes with his spell-casting shenanigans - and the intervention of an evil witch only makes matters worse. Unconvincing family adventure, enlivened by villainy from Kathleen Turner, who stars alongside Martin Short, Mara Wilson and Robert Pastorelli.
