Movie (1986)
Alex Cox's harrowing but captivating biopic of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious, chronicling his ill-fated romance with groupie Nancy Spungen, who introduced him to heroin and paid the ultimate price. An underweight Gary Oldman and Chloe Webb star, Andrew Schofield lends support as the Pistols' lead singer Johnny Rotten, while the suitably authentic music is provided by acts including The Pogues and Joe Strummer. Look out for an early appearance by Courtney Love, whose former band Hole echoed the punk sentiments of the 1970s scene.
