Synopsis:
Aspiring writer Jack Nicholson takes a caretaking job in an isolated hotel - but evil spirits dwelling within begin to haunt him, causing him to terrorise his unfortunate family. Stanley Kubrick's version of the Stephen King novel wasn't popular with the author, but genre aficionados cite this as one of the best horrors ever made, with creepy camera work, a memorable score and inspired casting.
